Law Practice Management Lending Library

POLICY

The law practice management lending library is offered by The Missouri Bar as a service to Missouri Bar members for general education purposes.

Books, videotapes, and audiotapes are loaned for a 21-day period. It is important that the items be returned on time. However, upon request, the lending period may be extended if there is no one on the waiting list for that item. The borrower must contact the Law Practice Management Lending Library at The Missouri Bar for permission to extend the lending period.

All shipping fees are due at the end of the lending period when the books are returned to the library.

Books - $3.00 shipping fee per book
Videotapes - $5.00 shipping fee per videotape
Audiotapes - $2.00 shipping fee per audiotape

Your request to borrow an item from the library will be filled as soon as the request is received. However, on occasion some items may be on loan, which will require your name to be placed on a waiting list. If this should be necessary, you will be notified of the approximate time to expect the item(s) to arrive.

Borrowers may check out up to 6 items during the 21 day lending period.

Failure to respond to late notices may result in the forfeiture of access to the Law Practice Management Lending Library.

Extra care should be given to items borrowed from the library so that many others may also benefit from them. Coffee stains, torn covers and pages, and items left in the weather are not considered normal wear and tear.

NOTICE: Borrowers are responsible for damage, loss, or theft of items borrowed from the library, and they will be billed for the cost to replace the item(s).

Books published by the ABA may be obtained at a discount for Missouri Bar members that wish to make a permanent addition to their firm library.  For more information, login to the members-only site and choose "ABA Books Discount" at the bottom of the page.
