The Missouri Bar Board of Governors is seeking applications from members of The Missouri Bar for appointment to serve as the Kansas City delegate from Missouri to the American Bar Association (ABA) House of Delegates.


The Delegate position exists to provide members of The Missouri Bar from diverse backgrounds with leadership opportunities.  The individual selected will serve a two-year term, b
eginning on August 13, 2025, and expiring at the adjournment of the ABA Annual Meeting in August 2027.

The individual appointed may serve two consecutive terms, for a maximum service of four years, depending on continued eligibility and reappointment.  Delegates are expected to attend all meetings of the ABA House of Delegates.

In addition, all appointed delegates must file an annual report with The Missouri Bar Board of Governors on or before April 1 of each year. This report should outline:

  • The dates and meeting attended in the previous 12 months.
  • Committees or subcommittees on which the delegate serves.
  • Offices or other positions held by the delegate within the ABA, including those on committees or subcommittees.
  • Discussion of issues and/or projects the delegate believes to be of such significance to merit consideration by Board of Governors.

Delegates shall also be available to provide reports in person to the Board of Governors, Executive Committee, and/or Appointments Committee, if reasonably requested.

The individual selected must be a member in good standing of both The Missouri Bar and the American Bar Association throughout their tenure as a delegate.
