Law clerks work directly with the Judge in reviewing case files, conducting legal research, recommending case dispositions, attending oral arguments, and drafting judicial opinions.

The Judge’s law clerks generally maintain a hybrid work schedule, with the opportunity to work remotely multiple days per week consistent with the needs of the office. Law clerks office at the Court in Kansas City.

Besides strong academic performance, applicants should have significant experience in legal research, analysis and writing (such as through law review work, service as a faculty research assistant, or through clinical work experience).

Annual salary starts at $62,000, with eligibility for a raise after the first year. Compensation includes standard State of Missouri employee benefits, including health insurance.
