Legal Aid of Western Missouri is seeking a full-time licensed attorney in its Joplin office to provide legal counsel and court-room advocacy on behalf of survivors of domestic violence in a six (6) county service area including McDonald, Newton Jasper, Barton, Vernon and Bates County Missouri. The Joplin office is staffed by four experience attorneys and three paralegals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, representing survivors of domestic violence in obtaining orders of protection and related domestic issues, including dissolution of marriages and custody matters. Responsibilities also include providing education in self-advocacy and working with advocacy organizations. Trial preparation and in-court appearances will be required along with administrative duties.

The qualified candidate must have the following: a Missouri law license; valid driver’s license; a demonstrated interest in representing low-income, the elderly, or otherwise underserved and marginalized population in the six (6) county area served.
 
Salary Range is $60,000 +  DOE
