Responsible for providing legal advice to the Mayor’s Office, City department heads and administrative boards and staff.

Work will include contract and transactional matters, pensions, tax, bond and other municipal finance issues as well as drafting proposed legislation and coordinating with the City’s development agencies.


About Us:

The Civil Law Department for the City houses more than fifty (50) lawyers and twenty five (25) support staff.

It is led by the City Counselor serves as chief counsel to elected City officials, boards and commission, as well as departments and agencies – including the St. Louis Development Corporation, the Metropolitan Police Department, & Lambert International Airport.

This attorney should be capable of performing legal research related to federal and state regulations, contracts, local tax, land use, and legislative matters with minimal oversight.

This attorney will provide legal advice and opinions to City departments.

Responsible for providing legal advice to boards, commissions, officials, departments, and employees.

Responsible for working independently and exercising sound judgment on a daily basis.

This attorney will receive assignments and direction from the City Counselor, a Deputy City Counselor, and an Attorney Manager.

Performs other duties as assigned.
