Legal Aid of Western Missouri seeks an attorney with a minimum of five years of experience to serve as the Assistant Supervising Attorney of the domestic team in our Central Office.

Our Domestic team represents survivors of domestic violence with child custody cases, paternity actions, actions for dissolution of marriage and Orders of Protection.

The Assistant Supervising Attorney will maintain a caseload consisting of some of the more complicated domestic cases handled by our office and will assist the Supervising Attorney with providing guidance to less experienced attorneys on the team. This position will also cover the Order of Protection docket in Independence. Additionally, the Assistant Supervising Attorney will also be responsible for reviewing all of the domestic team's closed files and for ensuring compliance with all LSC and data entry guidelines.

Qualifications:

· Licensed to practice law in Missouri.

· Five years or more experience in domestic law.

· Ability to listen.

· Strong client interviewing skills and be able to communicate information effectively and concisely.

· Work independently and efficiently.

· Be detail orientated.

· Manage a caseload, in addition to administrative and supervisory duties.

· Have a sense of humor.

· Ability to speak a second language, preferred, but not required.


Salary:

$75,000 + DOE.
