Job Number: 01-241114-03: Associate Attorney
Company Name: Stewart, Wald & Smith, LLC
The ideal candidate will have outstanding research and writing skills, an ability to think quickly and argue persuasively, and an enthusiasm for client interaction. We give our associates significant responsibility right away, and a new associate should expect to write complex briefs, argue motions before the Court, conduct depositions, participate in trials, and regularly handle large meetings with prospective clients. The court in which we practice, the Court of Federal Claims, exercises nationwide jurisdiction out of Washington, D.C., and accordingly, the candidate should look forward to regular travel opportunities, both to D.C. and across the country.
Bar license in any state is acceptable.
Salary: Competitive based upon experience
We pay a competitive salary based upon experience, which should include well-rounded exposure to all phases of civil litigation and a background in brief writing (a writing sample is required when applying, preferably a brief or similar motion).
This is an excellent opportunity for a young attorney to gain a tremendous amount of hands-on litigation experience while quickly developing expertise in a niche area of Constitutional law.
