The Missouri Board of Law Examiners is responsible for administering the Missouri bar examination and determining eligibility of all applicants seeking admission to The Missouri Bar.

The assistant director of testing provides support to the director of testing for all aspects of testing, grading, and admission certification.

The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly to perform a wide variety of time-sensitive tasks and responsibilities.

Supervision:

Reports directly to the director of testing, but exercises independent judgment to accomplish tasks as assigned.


Responsibilities:

Assists the director of testing with logistical and organizational management required to administer the bar examination and implement eligibility determinations, including:

· Serving as primary point of contact for exam issues, temporary permits, licensure, oaths, and general admission eligibility.

· Communicating timely and accurate information to applicants regarding the bar examination and admission eligibility.

· Processing requests for accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act for review by the executive director and general counsel and implementing any testing accommodations provided.

· Coordinating with the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) regarding exam administration, test materials, score scaling, and statistical reports.

· Working with the venues hosting the examination each February and July to ensure the venue can meet both NCBE requirements and MBLE expectations.

· Coordinating with vendors regarding software maintenance and programming for bar exam applications, laptop program, grading, and admission eligibility/certification.

· Planning for appropriate materials, staffing, and training for the bar examination. This includes preparing instructions for examinees and coordinating proctors and staff.

· Distributing test materials for grading, providing necessary instructions and guidance for graders, and coordinating secure communication of scoring information.

· Maintaining accurate and secure records regarding examination attendance and testing materials.

· Providing data analyses and reports regarding bar exam applications, results, and eligibility.

· Preparing certifications and licenses for individuals approved for admission to The Missouri Bar for the two new attorney-enrollment ceremonies held each year in conjunction with the Supreme Court of Missouri.

· Reviewing all applications before certification by the Supreme Court of Missouri.

Minimum Qualifications:
The qualified candidate must have a minimum of four years of progressively responsible work experience in a wide range of business technology and software, including database applications, spreadsheets, word processing, and report programming. Preference will be given to candidates with a four-year degree. 

Salary and Benefits: 
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications, ranging from $52,000 to $56,000 annually.
The position is full time and eligible for employer-sponsored retirement plan; insurance including health, vision, and dental benefits; and sick- and annual-leave accruals.
