The AW Smith Law Firm is seeking an associate attorney to join their team in Columbia. This role would involve working along side a team with a reputation for success, hard work, and dedicated service for the people of Missouri. Our team of personal injury attorneys and support staff perform at the highest level and have the results to prove it.

Overview:
You will play a key role in managing personal injury cases from start to finish. We are seeking an experienced attorney who is dedicated to providing compassionate guidance to clients, advocating against insurance companies, and securing the best possible outcomes for our clients. Ideal candidates will be skilled in both innovative legal strategies and thorough analytical work. Your responsibilities will include investigating and analyzing personal injury and insurance issues, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, taking and defending depositions, and representing clients in court.

Key Responsibilities:
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in personal injury and insurance law.
• Create and execute innovative legal strategies for personal injury cases and insurance disputes.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case development and litigation efforts.
• Draft and review legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Negotiate with insurance companies and opposing counsel to secure favorable outcomes for clients.
• Represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Work closely with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management.

Qualifications:
• Aptitude to learn new technology.
• High attention to detail.
• Leadership skills.
• Ability to translate technical language into general terms.
• Adaptable to change and shifts in priority.
• Analytical decision-making skills.
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Must be licensed and in good standing with the Missouri Bar.

• Ability to think creatively and analytically to solve complex legal issues.
• Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Willingness to move to or remain in Mid-Missouri.
