The Division of Research for the Missouri Senate is seeking an attorney in a nonpartisan, fast-paced, multi-faceted legislative environment.

The successful applicant will draft legislation, staff committees of the Missouri Senate, prepare legal opinions, analyze legislative proposals, and develop policy alternatives.

The position is full time.

The position requires excellent writing and oral communication skills and the ability to stay organized.

The position also requires the ability to work well under pressure, adapt to various situations, and prioritize multiple work assignments simultaneously while managing various interruptions and still meeting deadlines as required by the legislative process, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Salary is $70,000, with opportunity for merit-based raises.

The position may qualify individuals for the provisions of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, and qualifies for Missouri state benefits.
