The Low Income Staff Attorney/Fellow provides legal services to low income taxpayers in controversy with the IRS as part of WashULaw's award winning clinical program.

As part of the job, the successful candidate will receive free tuition to our Tax LL.M. program.

Under the direction of the Clinic’s Director and/or the Clinic’s Supervising Attorney, the Staff Attorney Fellow will be expected to:

Provide free legal assistance to low income taxpayers on income tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service.
Assume primary responsibility for cases by engaging in substantial legal work, including intake/case evaluation, client interviewing and counseling, fact investigation, drafting pleadings and other legal filings, participating in discovery, and making court appearances.
Perform community outreach activities in the local area.
Other duties as assigned by Clinic Director.
