The Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel is the agency established by the Supreme Court of Missouri to handle ethical complaints involving lawyers.

In this interesting and important position, staff counsel investigates allegations that an attorney has violated the Rules of Professional Conduct and prosecutes those cases where a lawyer’s misconduct poses a threat to the public or to the integrity of the legal profession.

* An understanding of effective investigative practices
* Proven pleading and litigation skills based upon trial experience is highly desired
* Successful candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in the practice of law
* Appellate experience is a plus

The Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel (OCDC) is located in Jefferson City but welcomes qualified candidates from across the state. Some travel required. While there are times when Staff Counsel would be expected to be in Jefferson City, this position allows for some remote work.

The Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel (OCDC) offers a generous benefit package that includes insurance (health, dental, vision, life) and retirement benefits.

Annual starting salary ranges from $80,000 to $88,000, but actual salary will be commensurate with experience. Even though the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel (OCDC) is an agency of the Supreme Court of Missouri, this is not a position with the State of Missouri.
