The ideal candidate will have five to seven (5-7) years of experience, and excellent research, writing, and communication skills.


Responsibilities include:
• Researching legal issues in employment and personal injury cases
• Writing legal briefs in employment and personal injury cases, particularly dispositive motion briefing, complex discovery motions, and briefs relating to trial
• Preparing jury instructions and conducting research into instructional issues
• Writing appellate briefs and arguing cases on appeal

Associate Attorney Job Responsibilities:
• Researching legal issues in employment and personal injury cases in Missouri and Illinois
• Writing research memoranda for use by colleagues
• Writing legal briefs in employment and personal injury cases, particularly dispositive motion briefing, complex discovery motions, and briefs relating to trial
• Preparing jury instructions and conducting research into instructional issues
• Writing appellate briefs and arguing cases on appeal
• Assisting attorneys with oral arguments on legal issues and instructional issues

Qualifications:
• Juris Doctorate; Missouri law license (and preferably Illinois, though not required)
• 5 -7 years of legal experience with a significant emphasis on research and writing
• Outstanding writing skills
• Outstanding research skills with an emphasis on a high level of thoroughness
• Ability to present legal arguments to a tribunal, particularly on appeal
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
