Established solo practitioner seeks a motivated attorney to join the practice in Springfield, Missouri. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for professional growth and mentorship in a diverse legal environment serving the Springfield metropolitan area and surrounding communities. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in various areas of law, including but not limited to estate planning, environmental law, and family law. This role requires excellent negotiation skills, legal research capabilities, and the ability to draft legal documents with precision. The Associate Attorney will work collaboratively within a law office environment with paralegals and legal assistants, helping clients with their legal needs and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.


PRACTICE AREAS:

Debtor Defense - Consumer protection and debt resolution;
Criminal Law - Misdemeanor and felony defense;
Family Law - Divorce, custody, and domestic relations;
Wills & Estates - Estate planning and probate administration; and
Transactional Law - Business formations, contracts, and real estate.

Responsibilities

Provide legal counsel and representation in areas such as Debtor Defense, estate planning, family law, securities law, personal injury law, workers' compensation law.
Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support case strategies.
Draft legal documents including contracts, pleadings, motions, and briefs with attention to detail.
Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients while advocating for their best interests.
Assist in litigation processes by preparing for court appearances and managing case files.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and case progress within the office's management systems.
Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases to enhance professional development and legal expertise.
Willingness to move into partnership and buy the firm in the future.

Experience

Client-focused approach with professional demeanor is #1 priority- happy clients turn into 5-Star Google reviews, which creates more clients.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the Missouri Bar.
Prior experience in a law office setting is preferred; legal administrative experience is a plus.
Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw.
Strong writing skills with demonstrated experience in legal drafting.
Desire to gain familiarity with various areas of law including but not limited to Debtor Defense, estate planning, family law, securities law, personal injury law, workers' compensation law is highly desirable.
