The candidate must have strong writing, negotiation, and communication skills, be able to work directly with clients, have a strong work ethic, and be comfortable in a courtroom.

Candidate must also posses the ability to organize many cases, to set priorities, to focus on particular tasks, to listen carefully, to think clearly, and take instructions in a cooperative manner. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Complete client intakes, obtain case files from prior counsel, attend some night courts, work cooperatively with court clerks, police departments, prosecutors, division of family services, GALs, and other sources; organize case file materials; conduct legal research; prepare and deliver pre-trial motions and objections, pre-trial briefs, witness examinations, closing arguments, and post-trial briefs; prepare exhibits for trial; and prepare witnesses to testify.
