St. Louis County Counselor's office seeks an Attorney I to join their team. This position is responsible for Municipal Court dockets and may require working night dockets approximately twice a week. The St. Louis County Municipal Courts’ evening dockets are located in North and South County. Other duties may include litigation, contract drafting and review, legal research and writing, advising employees, officials, and boards/commissions throughout the County and other miscellaneous duties.
Prosecutes ordinance violations

Provides legal advice, guidance and opinions to County employees, officials and boards/commission to ensure compliance and adherence to laws

May perform legal work related to administrative, transactional, litigation, legislative and other matters handled by the County Counselor’s Office

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and current licensure as an attorney by the Missouri Bar Association.
Individuals who sat for the February 2026 Missouri Bar examination may apply; however, such applicants are not eligible for hire unless and until they are fully licensed attorneys, sworn in to practice law, in Missouri. Such individuals may be made conditional offers of employment subject to rescindment in the County’s sole discretion.
