Judge Doug Thomson serves on the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District, in Kansas City. He is seeking applicants for a full-time law clerk position beginning August 2026, to serve a one-year term. Law clerks work directly with the Judge Thomson in reviewing case files, conducting legal research, recommending case dispositions, attending oral arguments, and drafting judicial opinions.

Strong academic performance, significant experience in legal research, analysis, and writing are required.

Law clerks generally maintain a hybrid work schedule.
