IT Support Specialist
Purpose: The IT Support Specialist role is designed to provide essential technical assistance to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and support the maintenance of IT systems. This position serves as a foundational step in IT, offering opportunities to develop skills in a dynamic environment. Candidates with an interest in C#.NET programming and SQL Server database administration will find additional opportunities to grow in these areas, contributing to both support and development tasks as needed.
General Qualifications: Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (e.g., Windows), and common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office). Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques and customer service principles. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Interest or basic knowledge in C#.NET programming and/or SQL Server database administration is a plus. Full-time availability with occasional after-hours support and some travel as required.
Responsibilities:

Provide first-line technical support to employees via phone, email, or in-person, addressing hardware, software, and network issues
- Install, configure, and update computer systems, software applications, and peripherals (e.g., printers, scanners)
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic networking issues, such as connectivity problems or password resets
- Assist in maintaining IT documentation, including user guides and system configurations
- Perform routine system maintenance tasks, such as backups, updates, and security checks
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as needed
- Support small-scale C#.NET programming tasks, such as debugging code or assisting with application updates, under supervision
- Assist with basic SQL Server database administration tasks, such as running queries, managing backups, or updating records, with guidance from senior team members
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required and 1-2 years of experience in IT environment
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is a plus
- Prior exposure providing technical support or working in IT environments is a plus
- (Optional) Certifications or coursework in areas such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), or equivalent are advantageous but not required

Physical requirements:

Routinely lifts and moves equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally may require reaching, kneeling, bending and standing for short periods of time
- Regularly use fine motor skills to type, manipulate small objects and use computer tools with precision
