Announcing New Missouri Bar Program Ready to Tackle Disputes Between Lawyers The Lawyer-to-Lawyer Dispute Resolution Committee announces that volunteer facilitators have been appointed and have completed an orientation to assist with resolving disputes between lawyers. As of June 1, 2008, the program began accepting complaints for resolution. Lawyer to lawyer disputes damage the legal profession and can clients unnecessary anxiety, expense and delay solely as a result of personal issues arising between them. These disputes involve adversarial law firm or office sharing break ups, fee disputes between co-counsel, perceived or actual overzealous representation, or professional or personal disrespect or discourtesy. This new program helps resolve these issues through facilitation and binding arbitration in a private, confidential setting. For more details, click here. |
