Plenary sessions

Sponsor one of two plenary sessions – Thursday morning, Sept. 19 – presented in person and streamed live to the virtual attendees. No other programming takes place while these 75-minute sessions are underway, so all attendees can focus on the thought-provoking programs on broader issues facing the justice system, the legal profession, rule of law and democratic society.

CLE tracks

Help deliver relevant, timely, skill-building education to lawyers and judges through four different practice-focused tracks. Each track features six, 50-minute CLE programs giving attendees information to positively impact their practices and help lawyers to even better serve their clients. Knowledgeable attorney practitioners and many judges or former judges serve as faculty for the 24 track sessions. These tracks are presented in person Thursday - Friday, Sept. 19-20 and virtually Monday - Wednesday, Oct. 7-9.

New lawyer or ethics series

YLS New (and Not So New) Lawyer Practice series – three 50-minute sessions
Make a difference for a new lawyer or a lawyer who is exploring other areas of practice by sponsoring this three-program CLE series taught by YLS leaders and experienced practitioners. This series is presented in person on Wednesday, Sept. 18 and virtually Monday - Wednesday, Oct. 7-9. 

CLE “After Sunrise” Ethics series – two one-hour sessions
Is ethics and professionalism important to your firm or company? Sponsor this very popular morning series of ethics – presentations by Missouri’s Chief Disciplinary Counsel and Missouri’s Legal Ethics Counsel programs. This series is presented in person on Thursday - Friday, Sept. 19-20 and virtually Thursday - Friday, Oct. 10-11.

Reception and luncheons

President's and Chief Justice's Opening Night Welcome Reception
Relationship-building and camaraderie begin in the relaxed, casual atmosphere of the Annual Meeting’s first reception, offering an early glimpse of the networking opportunities that are the hallmark of the Annual Meeting gathering. Featuring delicious hors d’oeuvres, a host of beverage choices, and plenty of time to connect with old friends and make new ones.

Opening Luncheon – an opportunity to celebrate as a profession
Swearing-in of Missouri Bar president, Chief Justice's Address and recognition of senior counselors
This event brings all of the lawyers and judges together to enjoy lunch, hear an update from Missouri’s chief justice, recognize senior counselors and the President’s Award recipients, and includes the swearing-in and passing of the gavel to the next bar year’s Missouri Bar president.

Missouri Bar Foundation and Public Service Awards Luncheon
This popular luncheon kicks things off on Wednesday and focuses attention specifically on Missouri Bar Foundation award recipients, YLS award recognition, presentation to the Prosecutor of the Year and Defender of Distinction awardees, and gives everyone an opportunity to celebrate lawyers and judges who through their work on behalf of the bar, their communities, and their clients epitomize the finest traditions of public service and professionalism.
