Client Security Fund Committee
The Missouri Bar
Board of Governors is seeking applications from members of The Missouri Bar for
appointment to the Client Security Fund Committee.
The six-member Client Security Fund Committee considers
claims of clients who have been financially harmed by fraudulent or dishonest
actions by their lawyers if the lawyer has been disbarred, suspended, deceased,
adjudged mentally incapacitated, or medically diagnosed as so mentally
incapacitated as to be unable to practice law. The Fund does not reimburse fee dispute
matters or cases of malpractice. The committee makes recommendations to the Board of Governors regarding
reimbursement of claims in full or in part or denial of claims. Members of this
committee serve five-year terms, with service on the committee limited to two
terms. Typically, the committee meets remotely
several times throughout the year, with an in-person meeting each October in
Jefferson City. For additional
information about the fund and its operation, go to http://missourilawyershelp.org/ethics/client-security-fund/.
To apply, please complete the online application form and provide a statement of interest and complete biographical information (CV or resume) by no later than 5 p.m. on Oct. 7, 2022. Please direct any questions concerning the appointments process or specific appointments to firstname.lastname@example.org.
