Client Security Fund Committee
The Missouri Bar Board of Governors is seeking applications from members of The Missouri Bar for appointment to the Client Security Fund Committee, for a five-year term beginning on Jan. 1, 2025, and ending on Dec. 31, 2029.
The six-member Client Security Fund Committee considers claims of clients who may have been financially harmed by the fraudulent or dishonest actions of their lawyers. The fund does not reimburse fee dispute matters or cases of malpractice. The committee makes recommendations to the Board of Governors regarding the reimbursement of claims in full or in part or the denial of claims. Members of this committee serve five-year terms, with service on the committee limited to two terms. Typically, the committee meets remotely several times throughout the year, with an in-person meeting each October in Jefferson City. For additional information about the fund and its operation, go to MissouriLawyersHelp.org/ethics/client-security-fund.
To apply, please complete the online application form and provide a statement of interest and complete biographical information (CV or resume) by no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024. Please direct any questions concerning the appointments process or specific appointments to appointments@mobar.org.
The Missouri Bar is committed to diversity in its appointments.
