Fee Dispute Resolution Committee
The Missouri Bar Board of Governors is seeking applications from members of the general public (who are not members of The Missouri Bar) for appointment to serve on the Fee Dispute Resolution Committee for a term of four years (June 1, 2023 – May 30, 2027).
The Fee Dispute Resolution Program
provides a procedure for resolving fee disputes between clients and lawyers through facilitation, mediation, or arbitration. Participation by the parties in the Fee Dispute Program is voluntary, and the program provides services at no cost to the parties.
The Fee Dispute Resolution Committee oversees this program. The program administrator is a member of the professional staff of The Missouri Bar, who is selected and assigned duties by the executive director of The Missouri Bar. The Fee Dispute Resolution Committee is composed of seven members (four members of The Missouri Bar and three members of the general public) appointed by the Board of Governors of The Missouri Bar. Committee members serve terms of four years, with a limit of two terms.
