Division Level within Missouri Bar Committee Structure

Divisions are comprised of existing and new committees and sections related by practice area. Divisions allow for a broader, global level of coordination among the committees/sections assigned within a division, including coordinating intra-division committee interaction, focusing collaborative objectives, facilitating communication, establishing firm-like practice group lines for committees/sections and ongoing viability/need for committee/sections within the practice area.

Each Division will have a chair appointed by the President of The Missouri Bar for up to two, two-year terms. Each Division has its own scope.

Business/Corporate Division

SCOPE

The Missouri Bar’s Business/Corporate Division provides information and assistance to practitioners in anti-trust; corporate, estate planning, partnership, real estate development, taxation; commercial and banking law and offers them opportunities to improve the law and the judicial system. Among other things, the division sponsors an ongoing program of monitoring and updating corporate, partnership, probate; real estate; securities; taxation and other business-oriented laws. This division was created to enhance the skills of its members through collaborative interaction and to serve the interests of the public.  Lawyers who wish to increase their level of expertise in and knowledge of legal issues, grow professionally, gain valuable leadership experience, and network with other lawyers in their field from across the state should consider joining the committees included in the Business/Corporate Group Division.
