The Missouri Bar works to promote the effective and efficient administration of justice in Missouri. Its legislative efforts are limited to matters concerning the administration of justice, the integrity of the judiciary, improvement of the law, or the dignity of the profession of law. Through member engagement in its sections and committees, The Missouri Bar develops legislative proposals to improve the law, the administration of justice, and the quality of legal services available to the public. In addition, the Board of Governors and its Executive Committee regularly review legislation arising outside The Missouri Bar and seek input from committees and individual members of The Missouri Bar. The Board of Governors or Executive Committee may take positions on behalf of The Missouri Bar, under certain circumstances, or provide information to the General Assembly.
