Young Lawyers' Section Local Affiliates Program

The Missouri Bar Young Lawyers' Section works with a number of affiliate groups to co-sponsor events, exchange ideas and otherwise try to help Missouri young lawyers find meaningful ways to integrate themselves into the legal community and enjoy and excel in the practice of law.

Local Affiliate Grant Opportunties

The Young Lawyers' Section provides grants to affiliate organizations for service projects or activities consistent with The Missouri Bar's Strategic Direction.

The section may provide grants to local bar organizations to help fund events geared toward integrating young lawyers into the bar. Events which would meet the criteria for a grant could include:

  • a luncheon in which young lawyers have the opportunity to meet with judges or local bar members;
  • a CLE or talk geared toward young lawyers;
  • a mentoring activity; or
  • a networking event which includes young lawyers in the area.

Contact officers, your representative on the YLS Council or the bar's YLS staff liaison for more information about the grant process. Please note all requests for funds must be approved by the executive committee of the Young Lawyers’ Section Council prior to the event or activity date.

Affiliate Organizations

Our affiliate groups include the following organizations, and we encourage members of the YLS Section to become involved with these entities and their programs.
